anet Kotlier has provided services to the companion animal
community for the last 23 years as the owner of a pet store in Berkeley, California. In addition to featuring cats for adoption from the local animal
shelters in her store long before it was a trend, she counseled many pet owners/guardians on solutions to cat and dog behavior problems.
Her background also includes that of veterinary clinic manager, vice president of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society (where she also offered cat behavior
hotline counseling), and former board president of Open Paw, an organization dedicated to reducing the abandonment and surrender of companion animals through
education and positive reinforcement training methods.
Attendance at feline behavior seminars, including those at the Western States Veterinary Conferences, consultations with behaviorists at the U.C. Davis Shelter
Medicine Program, personal experience, and targeted reading continually refresh her base of knowledge. Her experience helping owners of cats displaying
inappropriate elimination problems is extensive.
